General Access to the Tulane University Law School Library is exclusively reserved for the following persons:
- Tulane Law School patrons, including law faculty, law students, law staff, and alumni of Tulane Law School; and
- Patrons wising to use the Federal Depository Collection (U.S. Government Documents) or the Louisiana Depository Collection.
Limited Access is also available to the following persons:
- Tulane University patrons, including faculty, students, and staff of Tulane University who need to use law library resources to conduct legal research (Access is provided during the following hours: 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m..; Monday through Friday); and
- Members of the LALINC community (Louisiana Academic Library Information Network Consortium) (Access is provided during the following hours: 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; Monday through Friday).
The Law Library accommodates others only so long as their use of the facilities does not interfere with use by primary and secondary users. During exam periods, access is limited to Tulane Law School patrons.
Only currently enrolled Tulane law students may use the Student Computer Lab and printers located on the fourth floor of the library. Public computer terminals are located in the Library's main lobby, and near the elevators on the fifth and sixth floors. Some online databases are restricted and may only be used by law students and law faculty.
Restricted Library Access
After 7:00 p.m. on weekdays and all day on Saturday and Sunday, admittance to the law school building and the library is by Card Access only. You must use your Tulane ID card to enter the building and the library during those times. Generally, only Tulane Law School students, law faculty, and law staff have cards that will open the doors. Tulane Law School alumni may apply for an access card at the Circulation Desk (8:30 a.m. -- 3:00 p.m.; Monday through Friday).
Patrons wishing the use the Federal or Louisiana Depository Collections may call the Circulation Desk at (504) 865-5952 for admittance during restricted hours. However, access is permitted into the building with the understanding that the patron will restrict their use of the facilites to these two collections. Patrons wishing to have general access to the building or to all materials and services within the law library must come during regular hours of operation (Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.).
