JTIP accepts submissions of articles, essays, comments, and book reviews concerning the legal and legislative aspects of technology and intellectual property.
JTIP emphasizes that our journal has no minimum or maximum page requirements for submissions. However, we believe that journal articles can convey their arguments effectively in 40-70 journal pages (between 20,000 and 35,000 words including text and footnotes) and encourage authors to target the lengths of their papers accordingly.
Citations should conform to the 19th Edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (2010).
JTIP uses Microsoft Word-based editing software and requests that documents be submitted in either Microsoft Word document format or a compatible document type.
When submitting a manuscript, please include a cover letter that provides your address, telephone number, e-mail address, and the title of your manuscript. Also, please include a CV or resume for background purposes.
JTIP does not currently publish articles submitted by students from other law schools.
Three Ways To Submit Material
JTIP accepts submissions from ExpressO, LexOpus, and through direct email.
JTIP requires authors who have been accepted for publication to agree to the terms of our license agreement. Please download a PDF file of our standard license agreement and review its terms, as they cannot be altered, before submitting your manuscript. Sample License Agreement
When requesting expedited reviews of previously submitted manuscripts, please do so via ExpressO, if your article was submitted through ExpressO or by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include “Request for Expedited Review” somewhere in the subject line of the e-mail.
