Biography:
Ms. Chester began her legal career as an associate at a law firm in Boston, Massachusetts, handling insurance, environmental, and toxic tort litigation. She also spent two years practicing toxic tort and products liability litigation in Dallas, Texas. Immediately prior to joining the staff at Tulane Law School's Career Development Office, Ms. Chester served as an assistant city attorney for the City of Dallas in its enforcement litigation section. Her practice included high volume state court trial work in the areas of criminal nuisance abatement, urban rehabilitation, and zoning litigation, as well as appearances on behalf of the Dallas Chief of Police at business licensing appeals hearings.
Ms. Chester is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Texas, and in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Ms. Chester's professional associations include memberships and involvement in NALP, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL), the American Bar Association (ABA), the Texas Bar Association Animal Law and Environmental Sections, and the Animal Legal Defense Fund. Ms. Chester serves on the board of directors for the Humane Society of Louisiana and is completing a graduate degree in animal welfare legislative advocacy through George Washington University. Ms. Chester's areas of focus at the Career Development Office include public interest opportunities and fellowships and sports law. |
