Biography:
Ms. Cerna-Fagan's areas of focus at the Career Development Office are private sector employment, Intellectual Property, counseling LL.M. students, and counseling students in the class of 2009.
For the ten years prior to starting in her position at the Tulane University Law School Career Development Office, Ms. Cerna-Fagan worked as a transactional corporate attorney in New York City. After graduating from New York University School of Law in 1993, she was employed by White & Case LLP for three years and, thereafter, for almost five years, she worked at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP. Subsequently, she joined a mid-size law firm, Golenbock, Eiseman, Assor, Bell and Peskoe LLP. Her specialization covered a broad area of corporate law practice including project finance, aircraft leasing, bank lending, venture capital and mergers and acquisitions.
Ms. Cerna-Fagan has had years of career development experience from the other side, having served her law firms in both recruiting law school students and training summer and junior associates. She has also participated as a panelist in workshops held by the NYU School of Law Career Counseling and Placement Office and volunteered as a mentor for the foreign-trained LL.M. students.
Ms. Cerna-Fagan is admitted to practice in the State of New York and is a member of NALP–The Association for Legal Career Professionals.
