Biography:
Since his graduation from law school, Herbert Larson has served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in New Orleans, and has been in private practice as a criminal defense attorney, with particular emphasis on federal matters. He has developed particular expertise in federal criminal law and international criminal law. Professor Larson has taught at the law schools at both Tulane University and Loyola University. In addition, he has been a Fulbright Fellow in Poland, and he has taught in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, and at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. At Tulane, he has taught such courses as International Economic and Banking Crimes, The Law of War Crimes & Terrorism, Federal Criminal Law, and International Criminal Law. Since 2004, he has served as Director of Tulane's summer program in Amsterdam, which emphasizes International Criminal Law and Human Rights. Professor Larson joined Tulane Law School on a full-time basis in January 2007 to oversee Tulane's graduate programs and its international legal programs, including the Law School's summer abroad programs and its international exchange programs.
