Biography:
Prior to joining Tulane Law School’s Career Development Office, Ms. Guzmán-Weema was an Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Legal Fellow at Southeast Louisiana Legal Services. Ms. Guzmán-Weema was a member of the housing law unit where she represented and counseled low-income clients in a variety of landlord-tenant matters, including security deposit disputes, threatened evictions, subsidized housing termination proceedings, and habitability claims.
Before joining Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, Ms. Guzmán-Weema attended Tulane University Law School, where she was president of La Alizana del Derecho, board member of the Public Interest Law Foundation, and a student attorney with the Juvenile Litigation Clinic.
Ms. Guzmán-Weema’s focus areas at the CDO include Public Interest and Diversity Initiatives.
Ms. Guzmán-Weema is admitted to practice in the state of Louisiana and is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, and NALP–The Association for Legal Career Professionals.
