Seth M. Nehrbass

Biography:
Seth Nehrbass is a founding member of Louisiana’s largest patent law firm, the New Orleans patent law firm GARVEY, SMITH & NEHRBASS, PATENT ATTORNEYS, L.L.C. Seth has been actively involved in the prosecution of patent applications since 1982, both as a patent examiner and as a patent attorney. While Seth’s technical background is in physics, he has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a range of technologies including chemistry, mechanical engineering, electronics, medicine and medical devices. He also has experience in all phases of intellectual property litigation. Seth was at one time fluent in French and Spanish and has a working knowledge of Portuguese, Italian and German. He has been teaching a Patent Prosecution and Litigation class at Tulane Law School since 1997, where students get hands-on experience writing patent applications and responding to Office Actions from the USPTO, in addition to studying case law and statutes.
