Biography:
Judge Brown currently serves as Chief Judge for the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana. He received his undergraduate degree from Murray State University and his law degree from Tulane University Law School in 1959. After graduation, he clerked for Judge John Minor Wisdom at the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Prior to Judge Brown's appointment to the bench in 1992, he served as special counsel with the law firm of Bronfin & Heller. Previously (1960-1990), he was a practicing attorney and partner at the firm of Monroe and Lemann.
