The Fifteenth Annual
National Latina/o Law Student Conference

Thursday, September 29 - Saturday, October 1, 2011
Tulane University Law School  |  Loyola University New Orleans College of Law
New Orleans, Louisiana
Welcome to the official website for the National Latina/o Law Student Association's 15th Annual Latina/o Law Student Conference! This year's event will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana and co-hosted by Tulane University Law School and Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
The 2011 Conference theme, “Crossroads: Changing Faces in New Beginnings,” recognizes the moment where a new culture full of color and life enters a community in the time of growth and recovery.  This theme highlights the many contributions being made by Latinas/os in the rebuilding efforts taking place in New Orleans, which is itself a reflection of an increasingly diverse nation undergoing its own transformations.  With this in mind, the topics presented at the Conference will prominently focus on immigration reform, education reform, workers’ rights, and Latinas/os in the judiciary, among others.  The Conference will be an opportunity to unite various sectors of the legal profession to understand and tackle these urgent issues.

The weekend will feature:

•   Topical discussions and workshops addressing legal issues affecting the Latino community

•   Panel discussions offering strategies to succeed both during and after law school

•   Networking events and opportunities to enjoy the city’s cultural sights and vibrant nightlife

•   A community service event giving attendees a chance to make a positive contribution to the lives of Latina/o students in New Orleans
