This scholarship fund was established in 1973 by the classmates and friends of the late Congressman Hale Boggs after he disappeared in a plane flight over Alaska in October 1972. Congressman Boggs received his BA from Tulane University in 1935 and his LLB from Tulane Law School in 1937. He began his congressional career in 1941, was reelected to the House of Representatives for 13 consecutive terms and was chosen House Majority Leader in 1971. This scholarship in the amount of at least one-half tuition is awarded to an outstanding entering student from Louisiana for a three-year period.
