Law School Awards Ceremony (by invitation only)

Only after final spring grades are received and all calculations and selections have been finalized, the Office of Academic Services, Tulane Law School, extends invitations to those students who will be receiving awards. The reception will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Berkett Multipurpose Room (MPR) with distribution of awards to follow in the W. H. Gauthier Appellate Moot Court Room (Room 110 of John Giffen Weinmann Hall).

Wave Goodbye Party

Wave Goodbye is an annual party given by the president. Graduates from all schools and their guests are invited to enjoy New Orleans food and live musical entertainment.

MAY 16, 2015 (SAT.):
Unified Commencement Ceremony
- 9:00 a.m. (approximately 2 hours) (doors open at 7:30 a.m.)
- Mercedes-Benz Superdome, downtown
Tulane University’s Unified Commencement Ceremony honors the graduates from all of the university’s schools and colleges. It features the pomp and circumstance expected of a traditional Commencement celebration but with a New Orleans twist. At the unified ceremony, you can expect to see the procession of graduates and faculty, the keynote address from a prestigious speaker, the conferral of degrees, and hear live jazz.

Parking is available at the Superdome for $15 (cash only).
Students and their families may utilize the free shuttle service from Tulane’s uptown Campus.
Guests with physical challenges should enter the Superdome through gate A (Poydras St.) on the ground level. This entrance is a covered drop-off area for disabled access. Wheelchairs will be available for transportation to and from handicapped seating; however, for those who wish to have a wheelchair with them at all times, it will be necessary to bring one with you. Handicapped-accessible shuttle service will be available from the uptown campus to the Superdome downtown and back.

Law School Diploma Ceremony
- 4:00 PM (approximately 2 hours) (doors open at 3:00 p.m.)
- Devlin Fieldhouse
Following the university’s unified ceremony held earlier in the day downtown, Tulane Law School will hold a separate diploma ceremony on campus in Fogelman Arena at the Devlin Fieldhouse. While the conferral of degrees takes place during the morning event, which honors the graduating students from all of the university's schools and colleges, the law school ceremony is dedicated specifically to the law class of 2015.
Featuring a procession of law graduates and faculty members, a tribute to the 50-year law alumni, and brief remarks by the law school dean, class president, and a distinguished alum, it is during this intimate occasion that diplomas are distributed as each graduate's name is called and he or she crosses the stage.

Tickets: Not required
Guests with physical challenges should utilize the reserved seating area which will be located on the ground level behind the area reserved for graduates. One friend or family member may accompany this person throughout the ceremony. The area will be marked accordingly and volunteers will be on hand to assist, as well.
