The Tulane Sports Law Society (SLS) offers students opportunities to learn, experience, and debate the application of law to sports and pursue sports law careers. The SLS is student-organized and operated and is open to all students at Tulane University Law School. The SLS is very active and coordinates a variety of events each semester including guest speakers, career workshops, athletic competitions, and volunteer opportunities. Recently, the SLS hosted events with the general counsel and front office staff of the New Orleans Saints, the New Orleans Hornets, and the New York Jets. Other speakers have included professional athletes, player agents, sports broadcasters, players association lawyers, team lawyers and executives, and league representatives. The SLS periodically offers round-table discussions of current sports law issues, including a recent NCAA Symposium during the 2012 Final Four in New Orleans. Every year the SLS hosts the National Baseball Arbitration Competition in the spring. For more information on the Competition, and how to participate, please visit the Competition's page.
