Tulane’s Maritime Law Center will host Professor Ademun-Odeke from the University of Surrey Law School starting Sept. 3 to conduct research on insurance law and international business transactions.
Financial support for his visit is coming from Lloyd’s of London as part of the Lloyd’s Tercentary Research Foundation, and from the Fulbright Foundation.
According to a Lloyds.com news release, Ademun-Odeke said he aims to compare and contrast the export insurance laws and practices of major jurisdictions, along with legal systems, customs and traditions, to reference sources for the industry, practitioners, policymakers, academics and students.
Originally from Uganda, Ademun-Odeke has an LLM and PhD from Southampton University. His teaching posts have included the World Maritime University in Malmö and the International Maritime Law Institute in Malta. He also has worked at the United Nations in the International Maritime Organisation in London, the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna and the UN Secretariat in New York.
