|
Tulane University Law School Professor Adam Babich will be the keynote speaker for the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA) Environmental Conference for 2011. The event takes place Monday, October 24 and Tuesday, October 25 in New Orleans. More than 320 environmental representatives and industry experts attended the 2010 NPRA conference, which focuses on regulatory and policy issues at the plant level.
In addition to teaching environmental law at Tulane,
Professor Babich
directs the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic (TELC). TELC is a program in which Tulane faculty guide law students through actual representation of clients in litigation, negotiation, mediation, and administrative processes. Before joining Tulane, Babich was a Chicago-based litigator whose practice emphasized environmental and insurance-related disputes. He also has served as an environmental enforcement lawyer for the Colorado Attorney General, an adjunct attorney for the Environmental Defense Fund, an editor-in-chief of the Environmental Law Reporter, and as a judicial law clerk for the Colorado Supreme Court. Prof. Babich has taught at Georgetown University Law Center, American University, and the University of Denver and has an extensive publications record.
