Tulane law professor Gabe Feldman's "Sports Law Guy" Twitter page is one of Sports Illustrated staffers’ top 100 feeds for finding news and information from the sports world.

Tulane Law School Professor Gabe Feldman this July has found himself among the year’s most influential and recognized names in sports. From Sports Illustrated’s (SI) “Twitter 100” to No. 20 on the New Orleans Times-Picayune’s list of “25 Area Power Players,” the Associate Professor and Sports Law Program Director has made a name for himself in the company of famed Saints quarterback Drew Brees, U.S. Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin, and PGA golfer Rory McIlroy to name a few.

Described in the Sports section of Sunday’s Times-Picayune as “a go-to source for the nation’s media during the ongoing NFL and NBA labor dramas,” Prof. Feldman says he is grateful to be able to add his insight to the discussion on a national level.

“It has been great to give publicity to Tulane Law School and the Sports Law Program and to be able to use the media to educate fans about the intersection of sports and the law,” says Feldman, whose own fanbase continues to flourish. As of mid-July, more than 11,500 sports aficionados were ‘followers’ of Feldman’s Sports Law Guy Twitter page, which earned him a spot on SI.com’s inaugural list of top 100 Twitter feeds . According to the publication, Feldman’s blog “provides analysis of the ever-increasing melding of sports and the law,” something SI staffers consider “essential to their daily routine for finding news, information and entertainment from the sports world.”

Sports Illustrated reporters are not alone. Since January 1, 2011, Feldman has been quoted nearly 100 times by media sources including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and The Washington Post. Furthermore, as the NFL Network resident legal analyst, the sports law scholar also has made appearances on ESPN, CBS Sports, Fox News, and ABC Network’s “Good Morning America.” Most recently, Feldman was appointed Associate Provost for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Compliance.
