Professor Jörg Fedtke, co-director of the Eason Weinmann Center for International and Comparative Law, recently was invited to discuss election laws and other constitutional challenges that Egypt is facing following the 'Arab Spring' that has swept the entire region. On April 6, he met near Tahir Square in Cairo with an audience of 300 activists from political parties, NGOs, universities, and government agencies at an event hosted by the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty (FNF). Later that evening Professor Fedtke discussed Egypt's constitutional options with members and parliamentary candidates of the Democratic Front Party, one of the largest liberal parties currently operating in Egypt. He will share his experiences with the Tulane Law School community on April 19.
