The United States Senate today approved the appointment of Judge William H. Pryor, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Judge Pryor graduated magna cum laude from Tulane University Law School in 1987 and clerked for Judge John Minor Wisdom of the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He was editor of the Tulane Law Review and was a founding member of the Tulane chapter of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies.
He received a recess appointment from George W. Bush on February 20, 2004, to a seat vacated by the Honorable Emmett Ripley Cox. Prior to his apppointment, Judge Pryor served as Alabama Attorney General since 1997.
