The National Law Journal—Tulane Law School faculty member, Pam Metzger, knew it was going to take more students than she had to help repair the New Orleans criminal justice system damaged by Hurricane Katrina. What she didn’t know was where she would find them or when they would arrive.
Finally, after 16 months of patience and hard work, her question has been answered. This winter break, Metzger and students from her own criminal law clinic will be joined by more than 150 law students from 12 law schools to assist New Orleans public defenders. They call their mission Project Gideon.
