| Course Description | | | The rapidly growing number of disputes involving foreign parties and transactions present distinct problems that do not arise in purely domestic litigation or arbitration. The course will address these problems and the emerging solutions as developed by American courts, and it will compare these developments with approaches that prevail in other legal systems. Areas that will be covered include the extraterritorial application of U.S. laws, taking evidence abroad, personal jurisdiction over foreign defendants, and the enforcement of foreign judgments.
