Bioethics Seminar

Course Description
This seminar will address a series of topics in the field of bioethics, possibly including decisions to withdraw or withhold treatment from different categories of individuals (competent, incompetent, infants, the elderly), issues related to reproductive medicine (surrogate motherhood, maternal-fetal conflict), allocation of scarce resources, AIDS, and other matters.  Grades will be based on a research paper, leading class discussion during the semester, and class participation generally.  (3 credits)
