Siena Provenance Course Certificate
The Tulane-Siena program is delighted to announce that beginning in 2018 Victoria Reed, the Provenance Curator for the Boston Museum of Fine Arts,
will be offering a course leading to a certificate in provenance research. This course will be
available to both Siena program students and professionals and practitioners. The course content will include documenting and proving provenance;
due diligence and the acquisition process; WWII and Nazi-era provenance research; and other issues related to stolen and forged works of art.
This year the Provenance Course will be held in the afternoon from June 4 - June 8 (program field trip taking place on June 8). Students who enroll for the entire Siena program and would like to take the provenance course in addition to their regular courses will pay normal
tuition, plus $250.00. Students taking the provenance course will receive a certificate in provenance research.
Practitioners and others (museum personnel, etc.) who would like to only participate in the provenance course will pay $895.00 (covers tuition,
any associated classes during that week and field trip fees). Attendance in classes other than Tori Reed’s Provenance course will be optional,
keeping in mind that the other Siena curriculum is designed to enhance and fit in with the provenance course. The attendees that choose this
option will receive a certificate only. We will provide assistance with obtaining housing, but it will not be in the University of Siena dormitories.
(The tuition figure is based on a tuition charge of $795 and a $100 fieldtrip fee.)
