Tulane Law School Hall of Fame
to add seven honorees April 25

Tulane Law School's Hall of Fame will add seven members April 25, including Robert Acomb (L '53), a towering leader of the maritime bar, pioneering law Professor Cynthia Ann Samuel (L '72) and transformative Dean Paul Verkuil. Journalist Cokie Roberts also is set to accept the 2013 Hall of Fame award for her father, the late House Majority Leader Hale Boggs (A&S '35, L '37).

Luncheon tickets are $60 per person, $480 per table of 8. They can be purchased online or by calling Nicole DePietro, 504-865-5909.

Law Review celebrates William Suter
as its first Alumnus of the Year

It was no predictor of outsized success that William K. Suter's first piece for the Tulane Law Review went through 11 drafts before publication. In April, the law review presented its first Alumnus of the Year Award to Suter (L '62), a retired U.S. Army Major General who led the Judge Advocate staff then spent 22 years as Clerk of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Suter, a devoted Tulanian who gained popularity on many levels as Supreme Court Clerk, was a unanimous selection for the recognition. The presentation highlighted a full-house banquet on April 3.

Matambanadzo is appointed initial
Gordon Gamm Faculty Scholar

Professor Saru Matambanadzo has been named Tulane Law School's first Gordon Gamm Faculty Scholar, an award made possible by a gift from retired trial lawyer Gordon Gamm (L '70) and his wife, Grace.

The faculty scholar position is designed to give early-career Tulane law professors resources to expand their research and engagement with other scholars and the broader public.

Rooks Scholarship gets major gift

Jimmy Taylor Rooks' legacy to Tulane Law School students started with an apartment complex.

Now, it has developed into a major bequest destined to provide even more scholarships for students who otherwise couldn't afford to attend Tulane.

Supreme Court bar adds Tulanians

Twenty-five Tulane Law School graduates and Professor Amy Gajda went before the justices for induction into the U.S. Supreme Court bar April 7.

The attorneys were presented by Dean David Meyer, a Supreme Court bar member who clerked for Justice Byron White in 1992-93, and sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts.
