Baseball arbitration event is a big hit

Once both sides had made their pitches, would the trio of arbitrators decide the Kansas City Royals had prevailed, or that first baseman Eric Hosmer was worth $4 million.

The judges — including Alex Winsberg (L '00), director of legal affairs for the Los Angeles Angels — called it for the Royals, giving the win at Tulane Law School's 7th Annual National Baseball Arbitration Competition to Emory Law School's Greg McMillin and Matt Wilson.

ABA features Tulane 2L's pro bono work

 

An internship with the Juvenile Justice Project after her first year at Tulane Law School led Jessica Johnson into volunteering with "Stand Up For Each Other," a group that pairs law students with youths facing school suspensions or expulsion. The pro bono work has given her hands-on experience representing clients and got her an invitation to Chicago to explain the group's efforts before a national audience during a special forum Feb. 7 at the American Bar Association's Midyear Meeting.
